We end this week with a relatively quick but useful tidbit:
What do Americans, Californians, New Yorkers, Texans, Europeans, Canadians, Mexicans, and “Massholes“ alike have in common?
They’re all demonyms!
Demonyms are words used to identify the people associated with particular places. We use them every day, and yet, many are unfamiliar with the term itself.
So the next time you’re wondering what to call someone from a particular place, rather than scouring the web, search for a location and “demonym” to find the proper term.
